Caribbean: Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: Vincentian Fry Bakes

Fry bake is a simple dough which can be roasted baked or fried. Stuff it with cheese, or with fried fish, or sausages or (salted cod fish). They are delicious plain, warm and slathered in butter.
6 cups All-purpose flour
1 cup Brown sugar (Needs 1 cup plus 1 tbs)
1 tbs Baking powder
3 cups Warm water
1 tsp Salt
1 cup Almond milk
1 tbs Yeast
Combine flour, baking powder, and 1 cup of brown sugar.
In a separate bowl combine 1 cup warm water, salt, 1 tbs flour, 1 tbs brown sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy.
Pour yeast mixture into flour mixture and add 2 cups warm water, then mix. Add flour to dough until dough becomes smooth, adding about 1 1/2 cups of flour.
Sprinkle flour onto table and kneed dough once again until smooth. Let sit for 10 minutes.
Pinch off, shape, and fry until golden brown.
